Hey all, I thought I’d start a semi-regular blog here on my own website about my own endeavours. (Let me know if this is still the only blog post available in 2023!). I hope to cover most of my musical stuff here + maybe something else as well.

So what is Olli Vänskä doing in September 2021?

You maybe noticed I released a single in June (listen to “Deadline” now) – it might only be one song, but it was a lot of effort. Mostly psychological stuff, overcoming the usual “everything I create is garbage” types of sentiments, how-is-the-whole-process-working kind of stuff. I think the end result is really good!

I also did some stuff with Neural DSP and Yamaha in the summer, more about that later.

Then I played violin tracks for a friend’s project (pics olli??? well I try to find some).

Additionally, I agreed to do a bunch of shows with Korpiklaani. So far we’ve done some festival shows and club shows in Finland, more to be announced. It’s been super cool getting onto the live circuit again. I just love playing live, and I’ve been missing it badly.

Plus I’ve been planning some new stuff in my free time (which is scarce b/c of… reasons 😀 ). A lot of music ideas and work titles exist, but not entering a studio anytime soon. Just letting you know.
